Have any of you ever been at a point in your life that you realized that you need to change? I’ve been feeling hypocritical lately. I write on here every week about being like Jesus, praying to God, being a good person, etc. But some days, I don’t feel like I follow my own advice.
Change is hard. I am unsure if I can completely change all of the ‘bad things’ about myself in one attempt. Even though I should, I guess. So I’ve decided to make it a process. I do well with goals. So, instead of making a complete 180°, I’m going to try 5° at a time. A small change. A baby step. Whether it is to pray more, lie less, have more patience, show more love… whatever. One thing to focus on at a time. To practice it, work on it, make it a habit. Then move on to something else.
Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Proverbs 20:30 – Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways.
Quotes regarding change:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
If you change nothing; nothing will change.
If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.
